The paradox about resurrection is that Jesus came to give life as well as death. For you to gain life, you must die. You must be dead to live.

  • If Jesus didn’t die, the problem of sin remains
  • Resurrection is a proof that death has lost its power. As Christian, you are not wired to be scared of death. Never be afraid of death. John 11:25-26
  • It confirms that he is the Christ. Act 10:38
  • It gives us joy of knowing that Christ is with us every day. Your future is God’s past
  • Resurrection gives hope beyond the grave. 1 Thess 4:13
  • It gives assurance that he is coming back. Act 17:30-31
  • It gives assurance that he is the keeper of his word. Luke 24
  • It guarantees our healing. Rom 8:11.

Isaiah 53:1-10

Question: Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ important? Answer: The resurrection of Jesus is important for several reasons. First, the resurrection witnesses to the immense power of God Himself. To believe in the resurrection is to believe in God. If God exists, and if He created the universe and has power over it, then He has power to raise the dead. If He does not have such power, He is not worthy of our faith and worship. Only He who created life can resurrect it after death, only He can reverse the hideousness that is death itself, and only He can remove the sting and gain the victory over the grave (1 Corinthians 15:54 55). In resurrecting Jesus from the grave, God reminds us of His absolute sovereignty over life and death.
