TEXT:     EXODUS 3:1-7, 2CORINTHIANS 4:7-9

The experiences of Moses and the Israelites can be summarized as below:

  1. THE BURNING BUSH: It is an experiment done by God to catch Moses’ attention. When it seems as if we have abandoned our goals and purposes in Life, God uses different method to draw our attention back to Him.

While the burning bush symbolizes the children of Israel, the fire symbolizes their suffering in Egypt. God doesn’t allow the Israelites’ sufferings to overcome them just as the bushes were not consumed by fire.

  1. THE SNAKE YOU TAKE IN THE CLOSET, IS THE SAME SNAKE YOU’LL TAKE IN PUBLIC: Moses had settled everything with God in his closet before showing forth in King Pharaoh’s palace.

To win the battles of life, you must have settled them first in your secret place with God.

For every man that is sent by God, He gives them a staff of office. You must have something on your hand for God to demonstrate miracle in your life. The joy of God is for us to win and conquer every battle of life.

So many Christians have the staff of office (the rod) that God gave them but they are scared to use them. God is not interested in you bringing back the staff of office empty to Him without making use of them.

  1. DEPENDENCE ON FLESH: No man depends on his intellect and survives. We are to trust God in all we do.

God has given us all we need to succeed and be great in life; He also uses different signs to bring us back on track whenever we are going astray. It is our responsibility to be attentive and sensitive to the leading of the Spirit. May we continue to be relevant in God’s presence! Amen.
