ADDRESS BY REVEREND ISRAEL OLUSEGUN AYUBA, THE PASTOR OF PRAISE BAPTIST CHURCH SANGO OTA ON THE EXTENSION OF COVID- 19 PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN

  1. Fellow Kingdom Citizens of Praise Baptist Church Sango OTA Ogun State Nigeria.
  2. In the address of The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Sunday, 29th March, 2020, where he asked the residents of Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Federal Capital Territory to stay at home for an initial period of fourteen days starting from Monday, 30th March 2020.
  3. Many State Governments also introduced similar restrictions.
  4. As your called Pastor and a Minister of Eternal affairs, this decision no doubt has disrupted your livelihoods and brought undue hardship to some of you, your loved ones and your communities.
  5. However, such sacrifices are needed to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our country. They were necessary to save lives says the President and World Health Organisation.
  6. The government objective was, and still remains, to contain the spread of the Coronavirus and to provide space, time and resources for an aggressive and collective action.
  7. Christian Association of Nigeria President Revd Dr Supo Ayokunle has been praying for us tirelessly and has also addressed the church in Nigeria to alleviate the suffering and hardship on our people.
  8. Praise Baptist Church Sango Ota has since been giving palliative assistance to help the members and the community on a daily and weekly basis.
  9. Hundreds of members and community are beneficiaries of this Kingdom market project.
  10. However the extension of restrictions announced by the federal government for Another 14days has caused panic and fears in the hearts of individuals. Better put emotional disaster.
  11. I challenge you to activate your faith and deactivate your fears, Taking solace in this scriptures “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentation 2:22-23.
  12. I also acknowledge the support and contributions received from some members of our church and public spirited individuals, and our international partners and friends.
  13. I must also thank the media ministry of Praise Baptist church, Benevolence /social ministry and our Health ministry for the great work they are doing in sensitizing our members on hygienic practices, social distancing and issues associated with social gatherings.
  14. As a result of the overwhelming support and cooperation received, we were able to achieve a lot during these 14 days of initial lockdown.
  15. We provided hand sanitizers, cash gifts to some members and community, rice , beans, gari, noodles, vegetables, tomatoes and pepper paste to those who are really in need of it, as we know that fingers are not equal.
  16. In the light of the extension of restrictions we have resolved to open KINGDOM MARKET every week for members and community. This means we have 3 more weeks of lockdown period.
  17. I also plead and enjoin all members who have special grace to feed others with the little they have to do so without hesitation.
  18. However anyone willing to sponsor the church in the kingdom market business should also do so by calling the pastor on 08028142827. as the market will be open once a week as I earlier said.
  19. I enjoin you to maintain the safety standards suggested by the health care providers and the government of Ogun state.
  20. God is fully aware of the great difficulties experienced especially by those who earn a daily wage such as traders, dayworkers, artisans and manual workers.
  21. I also know that some of the companies you work for may not pay you full salary or nothing at all. please don’t be emotionally depressed or consider suicide or stealing. .God will send ravens to you soon and by extension Zarephath widow.
  22. I also enjoin you to stay at home and if there’s any reason for you to go out on our free days let it not be too early nor too late.
  23. It’s no longer news that hoodlums have taken over our streets. Please always lock your doors and do not send your children out to buy stuff as kidnappers are out there to take huge ransom on people kidnapped.

  25. Our fasting and prayers continues tomorrow.
  26. I and my Team comprising Pastors, Deaconates and church council members shall continue to pray for you and incase you are troubled please call our attention to it.

24 . You all know that God already told us in our church since last year December to pray against Community/ State and National/ Global disaster which is what we are experiencing now.

  1. Exodus 14:14 says: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Remain calm, be still and see the salvation of the Lord.
  2. it’s my prayer that after covid 19 you and all yours shall not be among the lost ones.
  3. Remember I love you and God loves you more, missing you like kilode.
