Bible Reading: Matthew 16:22-23

Temptation is a subject that is so important but we have ignored it in the Christendom. Everyone is usually faced with one temptation or the other. Temptation is the intentional excitement of a person by using bait. It could mean allurement or seduction. It is as old as the Garden of Eden.

If you are not careful of everything placed in front of you, you become a slave to that thing. Every glorious man in life must be tempted before he gets to his destination. Before you manifest, you must go through wilderness. Psalms 60:8. For every great man, a temptation is set for you.

Your yieldness to temptation destroys your life. No glorious man that yields to temptation survives. Eve took Adam to the same pit and they fell together. Adam and Eve lost their dominion because of temptation. Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottage. Temptation makes you lost what belongs to you.

Nothing sinks a man like sin. Ananias and Sapphira lost their future because of lies and love of money. Samson lost his glory and anointing because of temptation. Saul lost his kingship because of material things. Gehazi lost his glory for silver and gold. If you yield to temptation, you are doomed. When you fall into temptation, you destroy your glory.

There are various types of temptation. One of which is the promotional temptation. Gen 39:1. Nothing wrecks a man’s life than temptation. Stop yielding to temptation, Jesus never yielded to temptation. You can’t say yes to everything. If you keep looking at temptation, you keep falling. Psalms 16:8
